Cheerleading
Thursday 5:30-6:30|Saturday 10:00-11:00

Group lift

A form of dance that involves high energy and team work. We teach two types of cheerleading, one is a form of stunting, pyramids, baskets, tumbling and jumps, and the other is creating a routine with pompoms which includes positioning, jumps and stunts. Cheerleading is all about working in a team, therefore students work towards the same goals, build on their confidence in their gymnastic skills and gain trust in their team mates.

Stunting: When a group of (1-4) people lift a Cheerleader (called the flyer) in the air.

Pyramid: When lots of flyers in stunts connect with each other to perform harder skills.

Tumbling: This is the gymnastics element of Cheerleading. This is a sequence of gymnatic moves traveling across the room.

Creating routines for both styles of cheerleading require a fair amount of training. Within this class students will build on both their flexibility and strength. You don’t need to be a training athlete to attend this class just be willing to learn, train and be the best version of you that you can be.
